Great video from Retire Jim Moran on Moran’s recent forum on guns. Too bad, the liberal local news didn’t include this segment eh? Surprisingly, Congressman Moran answered this question unlike the one we posted about earlier.
By the way, the constituent (not me) was 100% spot on. You can learn more about the 10th Amendment that the constituent referred to at this link. Jim Moran says the Government does indeed have the power to regulate commerce which is true to a point. The Constitution though says Congress, under Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3, can regulate ‘interstate’ commerce, not ‘intrastate’ commerce.
For the first 140 years of our existence as a Constitutional Republic, federal government spending amounted to about 3% of GDP. It is now around 25% of GDP. It has grown because of Liberal thinking just like what Mr. Moran describes in the video above.
