If Terry Mcauliffe wants to resort to blatantly lying about Ken Cuccinelli’s actions, he REALLY needs to take a refresher course on lying from the king of lies himself, President William Jefferson Clinton.
See this info-graphic the McAuliffe campaign put out today:
The Democrats in Virginia like Terry McAuliffe say Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli has a supposed ‘war on gay and lesbian families.’
Except, there is no war at all.
What the Terry McAuliffe campaign is referring to is an opinion the Attorney General issued which, as the top lawyer for the Commonwealth, Mr. Cuccinelli simply advised his client, the Commonwealth’s publicly funded universities, that they lacked the legal authority from the General Assembly to implement anti-discrimination policies. Mr. McAuliffe should know, if he wants to be Governor, that agencies of the Commonwealth (like public universities) cannot take actions not authorized by the legislature. It should abe noted that no where in Mr. Cuccinelli’s memo did he say he condoned discrimination on the basis of sexual preference, but only stated that the legislature MUST act before the universities can act on their own.
As for Northrop Grumman, does anyone really think the company would have chosen Maryland or the District with the higher taxes?
Virginians, even former liberal/progressives like me, will no longer tolerate lies, scare tactics, and misleading information coming from those on the left side of the aisle.
